BitchTapes: Voice Lessons

I had the privilege of writing about Inuk throat singer/revolutionary Tanya Tagaq’s new record for NPR Music this week, and have been thinking a lot about voices that break molds of one kind or another. What makes a voice memorable? What makes a voice “inimitable”? This week’s mix is dedicated to, and made up of, singers that expand our horizons, challenge expectations, and change the way we listen.
