Introducing Feminist Snack BreakGuaranteeing you a mansplaining-free break every single Wednesday

Yesterday we launched Feminist Snack Break, our brand-new weekly Facebook Live feminist conversation where we talk about pop culture and feminism, share what we’re reading and thinking about, and hear from you.

Sometimes, good things come out of really bad situations. In this case, here’s what happened: The day after the election, we didn’t have any answers, but we wanted to show our community that we were still here. We wanted to be a space to hear feminist voices and feel connected. We livestreamed Bitch staff and volunteers reading from issues of Bitch all day.  We got so much great feedback, we decided to keep that feminist space going.

And so, introducing Feminist Snack Break! Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST, join me for feminist conversation and snacks on the Bitch Media Facebook page. Whether you’re at work or out and about, you can tune in through a computer or your phone and hear more about what we’re thinking, reading, and talking about at Bitch Media. Don’t forget to BYOS (bring your own snack)!

6,000 folks tuned in to our first Feminist Snack Break where I talked about our response to President-elect Trump and I called Speaker Paul Ryan (202-225-3031) to ask him whether he thought the appointment of Breitbart Executive Chairman Steve Bannon as Trump’s “Chief Strategist” is acceptable. We also asked folks to weigh in our two tagline options:

  • Feminist Snack Break: Taking a bite out of the patriarchy
  • Feminist Snack Break: Hungry for feminist conversation

Let us know which one you like best in the comments, and if you didn’t catch our premiere snack break live, watch it below. See you next week!
