• The man who killed three people in a Colorado Planned Parenthood over the weekend was reportedly fueled by anti-abortion rhetoric. As Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards tweeted, accessing basic healthcare in America shouldn't require safe rooms and bullet-proof glass. [Fusion] 

• After such a devastating attack, will Republican politicians finally drop their crusade against Planned Parenthood? [Think Progress] 

• The first trial of a police officer implicated in the death of Freddie Gray begins today in Baltimore. Six officers were charged after Gray died in police custody in May. [NPR] 

• Meanwhile, it's still not clear whether the three white supremacists who shot Black Lives Matter protesters in Minneapolis will be charged with hate crimes. [The Atlantic] 

• In El Salvador, the country's anti-abortion laws make criminals of mothers who miscarry. [Guardian] 

• As the leaders of countries around the world meet to discuss climate change, two-thirds of Americans say they want the US to join a global climate change pact. [New York Times]
