Thousands Descend on Seattle for GeekGirlCon

GeekGirlCon started five years ago as a gathering aiming to create community and celebrate women in science, technology, and arts. This year, tickets for the two-day conference in Seattle sold out. Over 6,000 gamers, cosplayers, artists, and other lovely nerds came to the conference to wander around the booths of artists and crafty vendors, play board games, and attend panels on topics ranging from Mad Max to the disability politics of Daredevil

I snapped some photos of all the action—mostly of my favorite cosplayers. It was wonderful to see so many enthusiastic and creative people in their element! You can see more photos of GeekGirlCon here and see pictures from last years' event, too.
