BitchTapes: An AfroFuture Mixtape

Two black women wearing clothes from the future

This XIGGA playlist is an afrofuturistic journey through time, space, and energy. It embraces the XIGGA afrophilocosmology that affirms the funky fresh and courageous ways that people navigate being both on the margins and at the center. Deep inside us lives a spirit that is bold and capable of afroastral flight. When we tap into the origins of our people, the truth of our spirits and the bass-beats of our hearts, we are capable of magic. It is true, our people could fly, and we do.

xigga | the AFRO ALIEN mixtape from BitchTapes on 8tracks Radio.

The word XIGGA refers to an energy that lives within all human beings that calls for authentic expression, embracing of complexity, and celebration of courage and self-love. The XIGGA Project is a curated creative experience organized by Colored Girls Hustle artist Jessica Valoris. Multidimensional and interactive, the XIGGA Project combines poetry, visual art installation, performance, and food to create safe and dynamic spaces for artistic collaboration, critical dialogue and community building.

The Colored Girls Hustle Hard Mixtape is an extension of this journey. With visions for an afromagical future, the Colored Girls Hustle Hard Mixtape is how we fly. Join us by supporting the mixtape. The Xigga playlist will get you ready for blast off in 5….4…3…

The afrophilocosmology of XIGGA was born out of the Colored Girls Hustle song AFRO ALIENS, which explores the ways that we come alive into bold self-expression and self-actualization. AFRO ALIENS is the first official music video from the group's forthcoming mixtape. In the spirit of all things quirky, weird, and extraterrestrial they’ve created this mix to get you lifted for a journey of afroastral flight. If you’re feeling their vibe, donate to their IndieGogo fundraising campaign! They’re raising $10K by December 13th to complete their mixtape.
