Bitchtapes: Witch Grunge

This week’s feminist mixtape comes to us from Nashville-based band Daddy Issues. When Bitch premiered their song “Unicorns and Rainbows” a few weeks ago, I was struck by how the band described their sound as “witch grunge.” Awesome, I thought. I want a whole witch grunge mixtape!

Ask and ye shall receive. Here’s the witch grunge mixtape from Daddy Issues, with their description: “When we were first asked to do a ‘witch grunge’ playlist, we were a little dumbfounded because we didn’t quite know what the term meant, ourselves. BUT, after thinking for a few quick seconds, a ton of artists came to mind pretty easily. Witch grunge isn’t as niche as it seems because the songs we’ve picked are hard-hitting and hauntingly beautiful, making everything on our playlist witchy grunge.”
