Although I’ll never understand how enough force could gather behind the idea of inviting Karl Rove – recently named “The Worst Person Ever” – to the University of Iowa’s college graduation, I’m glad to see not everyone was pleased about it.
Some were upset at the protesters, and while I concur that it was disruptive, as one post articulated, If you pay a clown 40 grand, you should expect to see a circus.
Also, maybe I’m the only one, but I had NO IDEA that colleges pay this much for speakers. Forty-thousand dollars? I’m pretty sure the most we’ve ever gotten for a college speaking gig is, oh maybe $300. Can someone pull some strings, please?

War criminals and their self-satisfied smirks

They all have 'em - Bush, Cheney, Rove, Blair - and they seem to be more prominent when the host is under attack. Maybe it's something one picks up at secret society hazings... a tattered stand-in for pride and self-respect one can hold up whilst being paddled bare-assed on the front lawn of a sorority house.
Anyway, that's what it looks like to me.
I'd love to see more of this type of post, seeing as how this site is one of a very few I check with often for current political/social/cultural commentary!
