• The Justice Department is taking a big step toward seeing racial profiling as a serious problem: the agency will start keeping track of data on how often police stop, search, and arrest people. “This overrepresentation of young men of color in our criminal justice system is a problem we must confront,” says Attorney General Eric Holder.
