• Over 300,000 people participated in the People’s Climate March in New York yesterday and in smaller marches around the country, demanding the UN get serious about addressing climate change.  Some marchers believe it will take a “movement of movements” to actually create change. [Grist, Alternet] 

• Right now, the climate protest is continuing as activists march on Wall Street. The best place to follow along today is on the hashtag #floodwallstreet. [Twitter] 

• Some politicians in Congress are getting real about threatening to take away the NFL’s tax-exempt status if the Washington Redskins don’t change their name and the league continues to not take domestic violence seriously. [NPR] 

• Emma Watson gave a big speech at the UN this weekend about how feminism isn’t just a women’s issue—everyone should support equal rights for women. The speech was well-received by everyone except 4Chan. [ThinkProgress] 

• Tomorrow is National Voter Registration Day, which means it’s time for… a heartwarming message from George Takei? I’ll take it! [Vanity Fair] 

• Recent MacArthur Genius grant winner Sarah Deer talks about reducing violence in Native American communities. [Feministing] 

• Writer Leela Ginelle discusses casual use of transphobic slurs in the gay community. [PQ Monthly] 

• Sex-positive education website Scarleteen has some advice on how to “be your own superhero” in relationships. [Scarleteen]
