• Underneath some of the media frenzy around Ebola is subtle and not-so-subtle anti-African discrimination. [Colorlines] 

• The Supreme Court ruled on Saturday that Texas can enforce its new voter ID law, despite a lower-court ruling that the law intentionally discriminates against minority voters. [RH Reality Check] 

• Thousands of young women in Afghanistan have been imprisoned for so-called “moral crimes”—like refusing a forced marriage. [New York Times] 

• New film Dear White People opened in a handful of theaters last weekend and was very popular, selling out many shows. [Indiewire] 

• From a different angle, new PBS documentary series The Whiteness Project asks white people to think more critically about race. [Slate] 

• Serena Williams called out the head of Russian professional tennis for making sexist remarks about her and her sister. [Salon] 

• It seems impossible to get personal photos off the internet after they’ve been spitefully uploaded, but Google is removing links to sites that host Jennifer Lawrence’s leaked photos. [Guardian]  

• Maria Popova looks back on one of Ursula K. Le Guin’s best essays on how we think about gender. [Brain Pickings]

Sleater-Kinney Reunites!

I think this may have been posted just a little too early to catch this monumental news, but the beloved Sleater-Kinney has announced they are reuniting. They've release a new single, announced a new album for January, and a tour in 2015.
