• It’s a good day for privacy: The NSA’s massive phone-spying program has been put on hold after the Senate did not meet a deadline for re-approving three key pieces of the Patriot Act. [The Atlantic] 

• The Supreme Court ruled against Abercrombie & Fitch in a case where they refused to hire a young Muslim woman because her headscarf went against their mandated “look.” [Politico] 

• Tunisian women recall decades of police violence and rape while the country was under dictatorship. [New York Times] 

Nebraska abolished the death penalty last week, despite the governor being a Republican and staunch dealth penalty-supporter. [Colorlines] 

• On Friday, several LGBTQ and immigrant-rights activists staged a demonstration outside an immigrant detention center in Santa Ana, calling attention to how the Immigration and Customs Enforcement often puts transgender women into all-male detention centers. [Feministing] 

• And finally, here’s some love for the strong-woman-falling-back-in-time show Outlander. [The Mary Sue]
