Yes! No! Wait, What Was the Question?

A feminist life involves a great deal of choice. True statement. And these choices for decades have ranged among the good, the bad, and yes, the ugly at times. But with the contributions of feminists everywhere, it’s truer every day to say: At least the choice is yours! So, here’s to those who work tirelessly to protect choices everywhere– from those hard-fought victories of the past, to the challenges we meet head-on tomorrow!!

Give it up for the power of yes! And the power of no! Give it up for choice!

This mix is dedicated to those two little words that tie down the spectrum of decisions and all the life in between. So whether you prefer to dwell in Yes-town or you frequently hail from Nos-ville, there is a song here for you. The only perimeters were that the song had to have one of the key words in it’s title, album title or the artist’s name… I suppose they were loose perimeters.

But before we start to see the world absent it’s beauteous shades of gray, if I may take a life lesson from Homer Simpson (and I may), there will always be times when yes and no aren’t as different as one might think. Take comfort in the middle ground sometimes too.

To illustrate, from the Season 7 episode, Homerpalooza:
“Now when I listen to a really good song, I start nodding my head like I’m saying yes to every beat. ‘Yes! Yes! Yes, this rocks!’ And then sometimes I switch up with ‘No! No! No, don’t stop a’rockin!’”

–Homer Simpson

May your head shake yes, or no, during the next 11 songs. And, like a Magic 8-ball, if you have an important yes or no type of choice to make in your immediate future, I suggest you concentrate on your question during the playing of the mix. By the last note, a clear answer will emerge across the back of your eyelids.
