Jessica Daniels grew up in New York and now lives in Ohio. It's an adjustment. She and her husband are raising three kids, two cats and a dog, so Netflix and wine after they all go to bed is pretty much a necessity. She focuses mainly on the stories we tell and the ways women are portrayed within. In her spare time she dilligently tries to convert everyone to feminism.
Old stuff and new stuff, with a nostalgic ear for 80s and 90s pop. (I still know all the words to "Girlfriend" by Pebbles, thankyouverymuch.) Madonna is my idol, Gaga is a close second, Beyonce is a queen, and Dixie Chicks 4-EVA!!1!!!
All the movies of the MCU, all the time. Every Oscar nominee of the year that I can get my hands on. Game of Thrones. Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The Good Place. And Jeopardy!
I'm an Original Recipe Law & Order girl, and I miss Lennie Briscoe every single day.
I was raised on The Practical Princess and other Liberating Fairy Tales, by Jay Williams, and it's just kind of expanded from there: strong women who neither suffer fools nor sacrifice their kindness and generosity of spirit. Give me something like that and I'll read it.
