With roots in Kochi, Prague and San Francisco Lakshmi divides her time between the places she feels at home. Over the past few years, she has worked with newspapers, radio and magazines from Gaborone, Botswana to Los Angeles, California. She spent a year as a Fulbright fellow teaching and doing freelance work in Germany after which she moved to India for a few years.

She is a graduate of Pitzer College in California where I studied Global Communications and Studio Arts. She spent a year in Denmark as a Master’s student in Journalism, Media and Globalization at Aarhus University and she is now a Master’s student at the UC Berkeley School of Journalism with a focus on issues relating to gender/feminist studies, the environmental and identity.
