Writer, editor, tabletop game designer, journalist. Fascinated by everything spooky, weird and imaginative. Lifelong gamer, horror fan and feminist. I love exploring and photographing abandoned places—the spookier the better. Member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Online News Association. Over-caffeinated resident of the Pacific Northwest.
Dr Who soundtracks, Jewish hip-hop, Ladino love songs, French pop music, Garbage, Poe, Florence + The Machine, Glitch Mob, Nancy Sinatra, Flogging Molly, Kaizers Orchestra, Kerli, and anything that sounds good at the time.
Haven, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report. All other shows are watched in intense, lengthy marathons. Almost caught up on Dr Who again. Maybe?
Every magazine I can get my hands on, books on journalism, speculative fiction books for reviews, history books for fun ("When They Come for Us, We'll Be Gone: The Epic Struggle to Save Soviet Jewry" is a personal favorite). I re-read Mira Grant's "Feed" a few times a year, graphic novels (favorites include Phonogram: Rue Britannia and Transmetropolitan), books on neurology and psychology, medical papers on asthma and immune research, role-playing games, backs of products, economics books.
