Margaret Andersen is a freelance journalist and graphic designer based in Los Angeles. She likes visiting mirror mazes, petting dogs, and watching pretty much any movie that includes a training montage. She received her MFA in Graphic Design from the California Institute of the Arts and currently writes for AIGA’s Eye on Design. She has also contributed to Wired, 99u, the Dieline, and the Smudge and her essay “How the First Typeface Designed for the Maori Community is changing the Way New Zealand Understands its Own Cultural Identity” will appear in The Graphic Design Reader published by Bloomsbury this fall.
