I’m a former aspiring literature professor who left academia to make a foray into the wilds of feminist journalism, and I couldn’t be happier. Before that I was a sex educator and trainer with Planned Parenthood for many years, and also worked as a doula and childbirth educator. When I’m not reading and writing about feminism I am a knitter, flâneuse, (mediocre but enthusiastic) singer, and mom.

What I'm Listening To:

Podcasts. So. Many. Podcasts.
Also local radio stations OPB and XRAY.

What I'm Reading:

I host a monthly intersectional feminist reading group, so I'm usually working through the book for that as well as a novel. Some recent reads include: Feminism is for Everybody by bell hooks, Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg, Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay, Citizen by Claudia Rankin, The Intuitionist by Colson Whitehead.
Plus, you know, the internet.
